If you say you’re going to do something, do it.
If you tell someone you’ll be there at a certain time, show up. If something changes, call or send a text. It takes thirty seconds.
Plans change. Emergencies happen. Life occasionally kicks everyone in the ass. That is understandable.
What isn’t understandable is simply not showing up, not calling, and leaving someone sitting around wondering whether you’re late, lost, dead, or just an inconsiderate asshole.
Other people’s time matters too.
When someone rearranges their day because you said you would be there, your failure to show up is not just a scheduling problem. It tells them you believe your time matters more than theirs.
Reliability isn’t complicated. You don’t need a seminar, an app, or an inspirational leadership post. You just need to do what you said you would do—or have enough respect to tell people when you can’t.
If your word only means something when it’s convenient, then your word doesn’t mean much at all.
WTF.
